The SLM128X is a modular L-Band (850-2450MHz) switching system that can be configured for Fan-OUT (SLM128X) or Fan-IN (SLM128Xi) signal routing, and up to 64x128 (FO) or 128x64 (FI) in a single 4RU unit. Multiple units can be cascaded  to support expansion to largert configuratiojns by adding more hardware to the configuration.

Field configurable from a small 8x8 to as large as a 64x128 (Fan-OUT), it is designed to replace using multiple units to configure a system of this size. The input and output axis can be populated in single 8-channel increments independently as needed.

    Detailed Description

    Our new SLM128X delivers the latest in L-Band switching technology in our largest format to date. The new modular design eliminates multi-couplers and patch cords to provide configurations this large. A single chassis can provide from a small 8x8 to as large as a 64x128 in the Fan-OUT version, or 128x64 in the Fan-IN combining version. 

    This design allows isolated failure capability. Should an I/O blade experience a damaging signal or a rare failure, it will only affect that individual blade and no more that a bank of 8-channels.

    The Fan-OUT SLM128X (distributive)  version can be populated with up to eight 8-input blades for a total of 64 inputs, and sixteen 8-output blades for a total of 128 inputs.The Fan-IN SLM128Xi (combiner) version can be populated with up to sixteen 8-input blades for a total of 128 inputs, and eight 8-output blades for a total of 64 outputs.   

    The large front panel includes a touchscreen display with menu driven operation. The screen may be pass-code locked to prevent unintentional operation. The unit can be configured with one or two (full redundant) hot-swappable plug-in control CPUs.

    Each CPU includes an LXI 10/100/1G Ethernet port (with web browser), a multi-serial control port (RS-232/422/485) and a microSD memory slot for high security installations. Self-monitoring hot-swap plug-in power supplies are standard with an independent and redundant design. The unit has independent dual AC power inputs designed for any international AC power source. A third supply can be added for redundant LNB powering if required. The LNB option can also be used to power our single-port FiberSTIK fiber-optic receivers. The unit is also compatible with RouteWarePRO control software.

    Two power cords are provided as the unit comes standard with redundant (and independent) power supplies. Care should be given to the Resource Disc as this has all documentation and instructions.
