Modular Analog & Digital Systems
Solid-state, Digital and Relay Modules
Detailed Description
Versatile and field proven, our Series G2 rack mount product line boasts numerous advanced design features, yet is is simple, compact, and cost effective. The series currently has twenty five types of standard modules, each with various configurations, giving the system designer many approaches to choose from.
Any Series G2 module can be installed by simply sliding the module into the rear module bay of a Series G2T Mainframe. Solid-state, relay-based, digital and fiber-optic products are offered to meet most any requirement.
The list of module types keeps growing with new products including both MxN switching arrays and 1xN types. Non-blocking (full fan-out), combining (full fan-in) and blocking arrays are available. Popular L-Band and IF switching plus fully digital types as well including PCM, TTL, E1/T1, 422, ECL, PECL and LVDS.
Getting Started
To get started, select the module(s) that meet your requirement, consider any future requirements, then choose the mainframe size (and features i.e. dual supplies and/or CPUs) that fits your application. To order your specific unit, you can configure your system and the factory will assign a unique system number. We simply assign you a unique "system" number used for ordering that defines a specific grouping of modules, quantities and any other distinctive parameters you may desire.
G2 Modules
Modules that plug-in to the Series G2T mainframes are designed to install at the rear. This makes the signal I/O connectors face the rear (inside of the rack) of your equipment enclosure. This is best suited for most installations to simplify cable routing to and from the switching system.
The Series G2 modules span DC-40GHz to address many diverse applications including switching, distribution, audio or video, high speed digital data, telemetry, IF or RF, microwave and other types of installations. Each module occupies a given number of module “slots” within a mainframe. Some modules reside in only one slot while others occupy up to sixteen slots. Power and control for the module is supplied by the mainframe.
The rack mount Series G2T "mainframes" are available in four sizes to accommodate the needs of various sized applications. They feature a front panel menu driven touchscreen, single or dual (redundant) front loading hot-swap power supplies, and single or dual (redundant) C3 Controller CPUs (6RU and 8RU units only). Standard interfaces are 10/100 Ethernet (LXI), multi-serial (RS-232C, RS-422A or RS-485), USB 2.0, or GPIB (using our GPIB-USB adapter). It should be noted that G2T units (touchscreen) supersede the original G2 mainframes (VF and keypad). The units are designed for any international AC power source.
The G2T mainframes include the C3 Controller CPU(s). The front panel includes a touchscreen display with menu driven operation. The controls may be pass-code locked to prevent unintentional operation. One or two (redundant) CPUs includes an LXI 10/100 Ethernet port (with web browser), a USB 2.0 port, and a multi-serial port (RS-232C, RS-422A & RS-485). If needed a GPIB port can be added (using our GPIB-USB adapter). For remote control, our software package RouteWarePRO can get you up and running in just a few minutes.
A user defined G2 system is always assigned a factory assigned 5-digit "system" model number. The system is documented and tested using system number. Units are are delivered complete, 100% tested, and ready for installation & integration. The following items maybe included:
System
One or two 6'-foot power cords
Resource disc (#RDxxxxx)
Hardware accessory kit
Warranty registration card
Lifetime technical support
Free firmware updates
Care should be given to the Resource Disc as this has all documentation and instructions. Electronic copies of the Operations Manual and Programmers Guide are included, as well as RouteWarePRO control and monitoring software with a 30-Day free trial.
