Universal Chassis Assembly

The Model 1493B universal chassis and power supply assembly is a basic building block in Matrix System's programmable switching systems. The unit is wired such that it provides power and binary (TTL) control to one or two decoding modules which in turn, control up to twenty  1600  series logic modules. The binary TTL control may be generated by the users PC or other programmable TTL driver. In addition, this unit may be slaved from the Model 11600 relay control chassis assembly which has both local and RS-232C, RS-485 and IEEE-488 control. Control throughput allows multiple chassis to be controlled from a single source to configure larger systems.

The chassis base hole pattern is designed to accept twenty Matrix Systems 7000-C series coaxial relay modules and model 6157A audio relays may also be accommodated. The chassis has a maximum capacity of 480 programmable coaxial or balanced pair audio switchpoints which may be configured as a matrix,  a scanner multiplexer, or a variety of multi-pole multithrow relays. The system power supplies delivers plus 5 volts to power the control logic and plus 24 volts to power the relay coils. When the 1493B chassis is purchased as part of a system, all the modules are mounted inside the chassis and the system is tested at the factory before shipment.
