System Description
The MSC 11652 is a custom 128 input by 64 output solid-state audio matrix with true status feedback. The matrix is fully programmable and 19 inch rack mountable. The Model 11652 is an excellent general purpose matrix because of the user friendly interfaces (both remotely and locally), while it has many sophisticated features and capabilities.
The 11652 has a thru path status feedback feature. This feature allows the user to verify the true status of any crosspoint in the matrix. This is accomplished by superimposing a 400KHz signal on the user's signal, and checking if it is present at the output. The system will verify an input to an output connection if it detects the 400KHz signal at the output. There is no filtering provided for the 400KHz signal, therefore the user's signal will be superimposed with the 400KHz signal at the output when a crosspoint is being verified. Note that since the system automatically verifies crosspoints when they are being closed, the 400KHz signal will momentarily appear at the output when the connect command is executed.
